Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Harsh Mittal, trading as 8Dfy (“8Dfy”, “we”). They cover the 8Dfy browser extension (the “Extension”), 8Dfy Pro, and the website 8dfy.xyz with its online tools, such as the 8D Audio Converter and Instrumental Enhancer (together, the “Services”). By installing the Extension or using the Services you agree to these terms; if you don't agree, don't use them. Our Privacy Policy explains how data is handled.

2. Your licence

8Dfy gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install the Extension from an official 8Dfy listing (Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons, or another store linked from this site) and to use it and the online tools for your own use. The Extension is licensed, not sold.

3. What you may not do

• Copy, modify or make derivative works of the Extension, the website, or any part of their code, design or audio-processing methods.
• Redistribute, re-upload, sell, rent or sublicense the Extension or its code, including publishing it, or a modified copy, on any extension store, website or code repository.
• Reverse engineer or decompile the Extension, except where the law allows it despite this restriction.
• Bypass Pro licence checks, or share, resell or publish a licence key.
• Copy, frame, re-host or automate the online tools, or use the Services to build a competing product.
• Remove or change any copyright, trademark or other notice.

4. Ownership

8Dfy owns all rights in the Extension, the website and the online tools, including their code, audio-processing methods, design, text, graphics and brand, except third-party components that stay with their owners. “8Dfy” and the 8Dfy logo are trademarks of 8Dfy. Apart from the licence above, these terms give you no rights in them.

5. Your audio and other people's music

The Extension and the online tools process audio on your device; 8Dfy doesn't receive, store or host your audio. You are responsible for the audio you process, record or export, and for having the rights to do so. Using 8Dfy gives you no rights in music owned by others: an 8D version of a song is still a version of that song. Unless you own or have licensed a track, keep exports for personal listening and don't upload, share or sell them.

6. 8Dfy Pro

Pro is a one-time purchase sold through Gumroad, whose terms also apply to the payment. It includes future Pro updates for as long as 8Dfy offers the Extension. Each licence key is for its purchaser's own use, and a refunded or cancelled purchase deactivates its key. For billing questions or refunds, email [email protected].

7. Hearing safety

8D and spatial effects move sound between your ears and can make audio feel louder. Start at a low volume and take breaks. The Ambient Sound Lab is experimental and doesn't guarantee noise cancellation. 8Dfy is not a medical or hearing-protection device.

8. Feedback

If you send ideas or suggestions, 8Dfy may use them without any obligation to you.

9. Disclaimer and liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. 8Dfy isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, and its total liability for any claim about the Services is limited to the amount you paid 8Dfy in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that the law doesn't allow to be limited.

10. Copyright complaints

If you believe something on 8dfy.xyz or in an 8Dfy store listing infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with the work, where it appears and your contact details. If you find a copy of 8Dfy published by someone else, please tell us too.

11. Changes and ending

8Dfy may update these terms; the date above shows the current version, and continuing to use the Services means you accept it. Your licence ends automatically if you break these terms, and you must then uninstall the Extension. Sections 3, 4, 5, 9 and 10 continue to apply after that.
